Meet Our Team

  • Shauna Hill, LICSW

    Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Shauna’s 22 years of clinical & executive behavioral health leadership is the root system of her relentless drive for more effective, simpler & more equitable approaches to mental health. A rare cancer diagnosis & neurosurgery in 2016 catalyzed a life-changing personal moment and a professional shift away from the medicalized treatment system. Eight years later, her interdisciplinary clinical expertise, dynamic leadership, and infectious passion for bringing more healing, self-understanding and resilience to as many people as possible power the engine that drives StateCHANGE every day.

When not at work, Shauna can be found navigating Vermont’s epic waterways on a stand-up paddle board, taking in live music, or deep in a pile of books. She lives with her family in Burlington, VT.

  • Nicole Hapeman MA/Ed.s, BCC

    Co-Founder & Chief Products Officer

Coley worked at the intersection of education & mental health for 25 years before her tireless quest to find more effective methods and models for healing trauma & strengthening families and communities led her to quit her day job and create them.

Coley is known around StateCHANGE as our “educator in chief,” the magic creative leader of our content creation, product development, and innovations research. A seasoned, dynamic educator, clinician & workforce trainer, Coley’s unwavering commitment to our principles of quality, efficacy and brain-based universal design fuel everything we create at StateChange.

When not creating and leading at StateChange, Coley is often found in the woods, on the back of a horse, or both. She is a certified yoga instructor, a mom of two, and most likely has mosses and a few rocks in her pockets. She lives on the Vermont-New Hampshire border where she finds plenty of both.

  • Kate Saraceno

    Partner & Chief Operating Officer

Kate's passion for mental health was the impetus behind her undergraduate degree in psychology, but her professional career focused on roles that played to her strengths in marketing, client service, and communications. With a serious creative streak and over 25 years of organizational experience at companies ranging from a tech start-up, to a global management consulting firm, and most recently a boutique asset manager, she is the logistical powerhouse behind ensuring the big ideas at StateCHANGE don't remain just ideas.

When not cruise-directing the StateCHANGE ship, Kate loves spending time with her husband and two boys, creating vision boards for redecorating a room in her (or someone else's) house, or listening to a podcast while doing jigsaw puzzle. She and her family live in Shelburne, Vermont.
